Cat Edney is a multi-award-winning Dental Therapist with over 15 years of experience in private and specialist practice. A passionate advocate for team-led dentistry, she’s dedicated to elevating the role of Dental Therapists to improve both patient care and practice performance.
As the founder of The Modern Therapist, Cat delivers hands-on training and speaks internationally on the power of integrated clinical teams. She’s a respected educator for major dental brands, a faculty member at The Smile Dental Academy, and a regular contributor to Dentistry.co.uk. Recognised as one of Dentistry’s Top 50 Most Influential Professionals, she also serves as a judge for the Private Dentistry Awards.
Cat is also a proud mum of three. Her lived experience of balancing motherhood with a demanding career fuels her commitment to supporting other women in dentistry. She joined DMN to champion the growth of dental therapists and hygienists navigating career progression while raising families. Through mentorship, education, and advocacy, Cat is here to prove that professional success and motherhood are not either/or—they’re both.
